Lesser Yellow Headed Vulture

Cathartes burrovianus

This rather small vulture species is native to Central and South America. Whilst not endangered like many Old world vultures this species like all vultures very much needs our interest and conservation mindset.

Unlike most bird species and nearly all birds of prey the Yellow Headed Vultures have a superb sense of smell; helping them to locate food even if hidden from view.

Our little beauty was hand reared from a tiny fluffy chick by head Falconer Jo Askew

Watch an owl swoop through its natural, woodland habitat, stroll in open countryside accompanied by a hawk and witness an eagle or vulture soar before diving back down to earth and onto the gloved arm.
