Whilst our bird of prey experiences run Monday to Thursday inclusive, on weekends we open to the wider public for a very different experience…
From April to October we open the falconry centre and our wildlife menagerie along with the wonderful stately gardens of the historic Holdenby House! These days, open from 11am to 4pm, truly are a holistic day out for the whole family. A claim others make maybe, but what we offer genuinely is something of interest for the youngest child to Grandparents!
Ticket price allows you to explore the beautiful historic gardens and grounds of the magnificent Holdenby House, steeped in history and palace and prison to King Charles I.
As you move through the various garden designs you’ll enter the falconry centre and meet close up our collection of around thirty birds of prey from tiny Burrowing owls to the magnificent Golden Eagle, all housed in immaculate enclosures.
You can take the pathway into our small orchard through into the British wildlife menagerie and meet Norma the hedgehog, Roxy the tame Fox, Neil and Neon the tame rats and many other examples of British wildlife such as Great Crested Newts and Britain’s rarest reptile the Smooth Snake! (captive bred of course).
Just the chance to see these wonderful animals close-up is an enthralling experience but it really doesn’t stop there…
We also put on four displays each day on the hour, starting at 12 noon. Whether one of our birds of prey flying demonstrations, or wildlife animal encounters, each one will leave you spell bound and enthralled by the wonders of the natural world.
